Holiday Series: Top 5 Christmas Movies that Will Make You All Warm and Fuzzy
Posted on 19 December 2016
Before we start, let's just say Christmas isn't Christmas until you've had enough of Mimi's “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
Okay. Now, sit back, grab yourself a cuppa hot cocoa, some gingerbread, and LOTS OF mulled wine. Here it is: our Top 5 Christmas movies to get you in the festive spirit!
5. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
Seriously though, no one beats Michael Caine at Scrooge-ing. Besides, what's not to love about this movie? It's probably one of the best versions of the Dickens classic on film. If you need something to lighten up your soul this holiday season, this is it.
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
This is what Christmas is about.
We've all wanted to prove that Santa is real at some time in our lives and even the American Justice System weighs in on this one! The biggest miracle of all is that the original movie is almost 70 years old yet still captures the heart of every generation. Also, it's the 4th remake of the original, that tells you it's a classic!
3. Elf (2003)
"The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear."
To be honest guys, this is probably our personal fave. Buddy the Elf is basically all things good and hilarious in life. We can sit here and quote this film all day long.
2. Love Actually (2003)
We've watched Love Actually approximately twenty times since 2003. The gift opening scene still makes me cry like a baby EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This movie is a delightful celebration of love. It makes you want to hug everyone and tell everyone how much you love them!
Also, Bill Nighy.
1. Home Alone (1990)

I mean... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You've probably seen the movie at least a dozen times over the years, yet each time you drop everything and watch it for some reason. It's funny, it's heartwarming, and it's filled with sheer 90s-ness of small town Christmas cheer that we're all looking for this time of the year. It's one of those movies that we all secretly love but won't admit it, and it will always have a special place in our hearts.
On a scale from 1-10, how ready are you for Christmas?
